First Minister, Mr Peter Robinson MP MLA visited the
school to congratulate the on becoming the FIRST primary school in Ireland to be
granted Specialist ICT status. The school was awarded the prestigious BECTA
award. This is an award usually only awarded to Grammar and Secondary schools.
In his comments the First Minister remarked that the school was setting the
standard for all primary schools.

Helen Claeeson (Principal) of Ulrikaskolan in Sweden visited the school with five of her staff to observe the teaching and learning approaches used in the school. The school has links with Newtownards Model Primary with class links and staff visits all aimed at sharing good practice and projects to promote the children's awareness of different countries and cultures. |

Sam , Blake, and Jay (P4) enjoy a balancing lesson in PE taken by Miss Graham the schools specialist PE teacher. Miss Graham teaches all the key stage 2 PE lessons. So far this year the pupils have been taught soccer skills, rugby skills and hockey skills. As well as these the children have studied dance ranging from Bollywood to Michael Jackson! |
